Hi, long time no see, sorry I haven't been around forever.
Anyway, I follow Deus Ex on Instagram and they just posted an image for a pre-e3 showcase that says "Join us on June 8th at 11:30 am EDT. First look at our new projects. Exclusive Deus Ex: Mankind Divided gameplay demo."
Could "First look at our new projects." be a new Thief game??

God, I hope not.

If so, I'm willing to sell this (for the right price)... :ebil:

Of course its all just speculation but I'm guessing due to the mixed reaction to Thief 2014 (and possibly mediocre sales?) They might be revealing a new IP instead of delving back into the Thief universe.
If they took the real criticism of the Thief reboot and worked to address it in a sequel I could get behind that but who knows...

We can be like the guy standing in the alley when some kid comes along who's played Thief 4 and be like: "Hey kid...wanna play some old-school Thief?" :sly:

Haha nice job Brethren. I can't imagine they'll call it that but I'm sure you'll still get a ton of traffic looking for the game!

I wouldn't trust squeenix to produce a Thief game that I recognise any further than I could throw their corporate headquarters.
They asked the fanbase what we wanted in the last one, promising a faithful reboot with some new stuff but instantly recognisable as Thief to anyone who played & loved it, then let is howl into the void for four years with not so much as a whisper of feedback before completely ignoring everything we'd said and everything they'd said.
It's not like the fans volunteered suggestions unasked & got butthurt when they were ignored, that happens all the time, the fans were asked what they wanted and given every indication that at least some of the more sensible ones would be accommodated, being ignored after that is a bit more than butthurt.
So I for one won't be holding my breath.

Yay, let's get these rumormills started!
There's a chance that the "new project" will be headed up by Hyper Light Drifter dev Teddy Dief, who recently got (
http://www.teddydief.com/blog/2016/5/2/moving-to-square-enix-montral) hired by Squeenix for a Creative Director position. In the post he mentions the team he'll be working with are the ones behind Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO. So here's my prediction: Thief GO!
