Hello all. Can anyone tell me if there is a laptop out there that will play Thief 1 / 2 / 3 and coupe with Dromed as well? If so could you point me in that direction. I.e. tne spec and price, that sort of thing.
If this is in the wrong forum, sorry in advance.
All the best to all you Taffers.

My laptop works fine...after several tweaks and fixes. But it's a Dell from 2006, so I can't make a recommendation. I only say this to let you know that, yes, there are many of us who have been able to play all the games on our laptops.:)

The Child of Karras runs all three on a MacBook with some Windows XP partition. 'tis an evil DualCore, though, but somehow he managed to get it to work.

I have a three month old laptop from Dell running windows Vista with 2 processors and an ATI x1270 graphics card. It plays Thief 1, Thief Gold, Thief 2, Thief 3 and FM's with no problems. There are a few tweaks to make but the info is all available on these forums.
It also handles dromed with the dromed toolkit installed.

Should work with any modern laptop. If you want DromEd, you really want a decent vertical resolution so that you can fit everything on the screen, such as those long AIWatchObj and Vision Description windows - probably hard to get on widescreen laptops these days.
Personally I would suggest 1440x900 minimum, but that might be overkill for most people. I just can't see those windows fitting into 1280x800 for example (I haven't tried, either, but common sense tells me that they wouldn't.)
I'd also advise getting one with Windows XP rather than Vista if you can. The Thief games can be made to run on Vista, but from all I've heard it's much more awkward.

Actually, I'd say more of my issues on my new desktop stem from the fact that it's Vista 64 rather than Vista vs XP. I'd rather have Vista32 than XP64 for that reason.
