Haunts never scared me because I could fence them...
Zombies where too slow and easily avoidable...
My scariest undead where the apparitions...until I learned I can sword/blackjack them to death.
The backwards talking always freaked me out.
For those of you that don't know, the voice is actually Viktoria from tdp played backwards...
As far as the Puppets go from The Cradle.
Well. They really got to me in a way that the other undead never did. Was it that they looked kind of weak as they moved. But then when they saw you where suddenly as fast as an olympic runner?...How they shrieked at you as they ran? How they would convulse on the ground when they where unaware of you?
Probably a mixture of all these things that made me costantly looking over my shoulder while pickong a lock. Or shrinking back in terror as I noticed the lights in the room/hall beginning to flicker but realising there wasn't a good place to hide...
Why are they refferred to as puppets anyway?

Well, the animations suggest the remaining tremors of happened electroshock therapies. Think of
Dr. Vonnegut of
House on Haunted Hill! Although I would have prefered ghostly shadows over the undead in this mission, those electroshock animations were suitable, though.

I think the simplest answer is that they're "puppets" to the will of the Cradle, animated by its memories and consciousness. And their jerky movements are not unlike being controlled by the strings of a puppeteer.

Exactly. Everytime I go through the Cradle I'm forced to be reminded of that creepy scene of the doctor twitching and convulsing with a large butcher knige in his hands...
*squeezes eyes closed*
I have yet to come across an appirition. Does anyone have a screenshot of one I can see? Isn't there supposed to be at least one in normal mode in THC in TDP (not Gold - I can't find my Gold version). I haven't come across him yet. If someone could give me the link to a picture of an apperition that'd be sweet.

You will never know how much you have missed if you would not have played Thief 1's

That movie, House on Haunted Hill did a good job freaking me out. (I was in 6th grade and insane asylums do something to my mind)
Except for the ending...The ending SUCKED!!!

Yes, I do think so as well. During the first 3/4 hour of that movie, I expected some mouldy undead shambling in the cellar of the house.
My disappointment was
unimaginable.

I haven't even gotten through THC as of yet... I'm not a big fan of that level as it is. I just don't like monstars.. As of now, I'm getting Hell from a burrick that won't leave me alone.
I can't say I'm looking forward to RTC...
