Major differences. Aside from tweaks to most missions, including changes in the number of AIs and their patrol paths, there are three new missions and an extra Easter Egg mission showing off some goofy bugs and glitches the devs had to struggle with in making the game. Four missions for one of each Talisman, instead of two. A major new section added to
The Sword that is about the size of the rest of the map. The humanoid AIs of TDP's
Lost City were swapped with new ones. Some exploitable aspects were removed, such as AIs won't follow you into water and drown themselves, and the doors to the Cathedral can't be propped open. Two missions where players could trap themselves by using up fire arrows were given a new creature to collect fire crystals from for the price of a couple of water arrows. In the full version of Gold, it comes with the level editor DromEd and a "Making of..." video with the LGS team. Some changes are things the player may not notice from TDP to Gold, while others are obvious. Dropping a body makes a sound. Ropes are tweaked to help prevent the Rope Bounce bug that throws the player backward at high enough speed to injure Garrett.

In any case, if you've read the FAQ and it doesn't help, and you've done a search for your problem and it doesn't get you anything, post in the technical troubleshooting forum or legacy gaming forum.

forget about it, i started the game with win2000 mode compatibility. and i can play the movies now. woooot. i am off playing thief 2.
