Hi all,
I just bought a copy of Thief: The Complete Collection from Amazon, and am hoping this is a good place for tech support. I've only tried Thief I so far, since I want to play them in order - it played the intro for me, and the cut-scene at the start of the training game, but then as soon as it tried to run what I assume is the game, the scene went black and the PC stopped doing anything. After a few minutes I ctrl-alt-delled to close the program.
I'm running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP3 decided not to let my PC access the internet, so I've had to do with out it). I checked the link on the menu screen for any patches to the game, but found none.
Can anyone help?
Ta all,
J

You're welcome! Thats an all too common problem with Thief and the newer dual core systems. Welcome to the forum. :-)

Thanks, BA. I'll let Digi know about the links. I don't have edit permissions in that forum. He just reactivated html and all posts with html code must be manually refreshed.

I had the same problem too, even when I set it to run on one processor...
It'll play for a while, then turn black, but the music still plays. Eventually I just have to force it to quit because it stopped responding. I've yet to find the solution to that problem I've had.
