But the monolog is only going to be generated if he's playing the mission through Dromed, which seems very unlikely (especially since he just mentioned he's not familiar with it).

I can't seem to find a monolog file in my main Thief 2 folder, and I'll admit I don't even know how to launch Dromed (VERY unfamiliar).
I do have a crash.dmp though.

Can you post a save? If you don't know how to do that you can email it to me as an attachment.

I've uploaded a .zip of the saves here (
https://file.io/DgP2N40jSnum) https://file.io/DgP2N40jSnum
Save 1 and the quick save are the two to look at, I played around a bit with save 1 and found that this time I could make it INTO the stairway room, but the game started majorly stuttering and crashed quickly after. I believe the culprit could be the Hammerite mural at the top of the stairs, the stuttering seemed to be worse while I was looking at it, and it crashed just after I did.
In the quicksave I managed to make it up to the attic by passing through the stairway room while looking at the floor and walking backwards through it, but the game still crashes when I look toward the windows on the southern(?) side of the attic.
I appreciate the help, I hope you can figure out whats actually causing this.

And you didn't do something completely boneheaded like me and create a manual .dml file and stick it in your main Thief directory or anywhere else, eh?
If you don't know what a .dml file is, then it's not likely you did that. Just something to consider if you did.

Meprim uploaded a file containing 2 saves, but that file was a WinRar file and I can not open it, nor am I prepared to d/l and install WinRar as when I did that years ago WinRar converted all my folders and docs to .rar (including every Thief FM .zip) and I could not reverse that action, had to completely re-install window to get back control, so I'm not prepared to install WinRar again.
It also looks like the file sharing site Meprim used is a once only d/l site, so if anyone has WinRar installed on their comp and can open this file and repost the 2 saves as normal .zip saves I would be grateful. .rar file (

I've used 7-zip to unrar and zip up the saves - file available for 30 days at (
https://ufile.io/jyjdy1m6) https://ufile.io/jyjdy1m6
Hope that helps!

Thanks, didn't know you could use 7-zip, also been told you can unpack them directly use FMsel or Angel loader.

Well I've played around with all 3 saves and never once did the game crash. I'm not sure exactly where the crash occurred with meprim as none of the stairs were in front of a staircase, so I just ran around looking for every staircase and never once experienced a problem.

I don't know exactly what a .dml is but I have a few in various folders throughout my main t2 folder, I don't think I've ever manually created one though.
I just played around with the mission again, now the crash is only happening to me in the attic, when I approach the windows, like I mentioned earlier.
Knowing me, this issue will just for some reason go away eventually and I'll never find out what was causing it.
