Hi there,
I am completey stuck - maybe somebody can help me?
I have visited all the "city"-area and have been in the area with the floating towers - the only one that is still locked is the one in the far north-east.
On the back of the water-tower I found 2 switches; I suppose they opened a large floor gate from the guardhouse to a watery cave, where I got a quest item. I suppose, this is the underground area of that locked fountain near the entrance to the area with the floating towers, is it?
In a corner of the air-temple there was a floor lever, that I pulled - but I don't know what it has opened.
In the large tower of the King's Cathedral, I found a quest item (the chalice), and another key (to what ??) on one of the enemies.
In the abandoned house of the King there is a book that tells about a hidden secret switch and three hidden ladies. Where is that switch?
These locations in the village are still locked to me:
1) The King's crypt (closed by a large gate - where is the switch to open it?)
2) Doctor Floyd's house (where might be the key to this door?)
3) In the first part of the village, the large gate to the east. Is it meant to be opened somehow?
After my last visit in the area of the floating towers, I was finally able to open the gate to the nymph of wood and I was teleported into her realm. Unfortunately I only got a keyring and a single key from the "water-fire-ladies" - and now I'm trapped, I cannot go out of this area. The two gates, one leading to the temple of wind, the other leading to a monastery, are both closed.
So - where did I miss something important?
Thank you in advance for any help!
Cheers,
urumo

No, this is not the same place. And you still need to visit that fountain later.
And then, if I recall correct, you will also find
the switch for the NE-tower.

How did you get into the Kings-Tower & the Air-temple ?
I spent ages for searching the switch in the Kings house as well - without success.

1+3) same with me. Havn't been there yet
2) Not sure. I *think* I found the key somewhere in the city, but I might be perfectly wrong - and off course I do not recall any detail.
Hmmm.... just guessing: did you examine the
barrels under the stairs leading to the alcoholics ?
Note: Once inside Dr. Floyds house I found
a switch. What does it do ?
You have been to the air-temple already ???
This is what I get from your previous description.
I have searched every inch on the side where you are stuck. I suspect the switch is on the other side.
But here is how to get out:
there is a note that says that the switch for the 'portal' is near
a column.
Check
the columns close to the gallows-like lantern post.
High up.

With respect to the crashes:
it does not make any difference whether I do a hard-save or a quick-save. Every 2nd save crashes the game.
What seems to work best: save your game and reload it right away before going on playing.
Although that is annoying, it allows you to do an infinity number of saves without having to restart the game - or even worse - having to open the taskmanager first in order to kill the game - and cross fingers that the save was actually successful.

There's an experimental fix for crash-on-save issues, which may work in this case too. If anyone wants to try it, send me a PM.

Might be worth looking into the mission's property storage count. For IronEagle: Open & play the FM in debug mode, open the console (' key, at least for international keyboards, for me it's ö), type in dumpinternalpropinfo and see which values are printed in the T3Main.log file. "used" and "used but freed" are on top of a huge list; both together shouldn't exceed app. 43,000 since the savegame adds many more. Judging by the irregularity in appearance that gnartsch described I'd vote for another cause, though.

1) the key to the doctor's house was indeed the one in the pit below the stairs to the E part of the city. I had overseen that.
2) to exit from the wood nymph realm I found a lever next to the painting/window on the N wall. This opened the gate to the cloister.
Concerning those annoying problems with saving the game status:
Today I restartet playing the mission - but this time in the EASIEST difficulty modus instead of the default difficulty setting (it has no effect on the gameplay at all). I remember, there was an early mission, "Avoiding Mistrust", I think, which had a similar problem.
Now it works much better, although the bug still occurs from time to time. However, the saves are really safe now and the system does not crash totally any more, nor does it "freeze to death" without having written the saving.
Cheers,
urumo
