I maybe trying to push uphill, but the only thing steam is good for is the halflife series. Almost every other game they push onto people trying to convince them its a better way has always invariably not been the case.
FYI: you can buy "Thief: the complete collection" which has TGold/T2/T3 for $5 on a doubled sided DVD.

I agree, steam is terrible.
lol, why is it so terrible? I use it all the time and have had 0 problems with it in 4 years.
Sure, their web browser could use a favs tab and stuff, but that's just a side feature anyway.
As far as T3 goes you can find many games that cost much more that are WAYYY worse.

I got the game via a nViday 6600GT bundle. I did not touch the game until about a month ago and I really enjoyed it and it pushed me to play T2 which I also enjoy a lot. The gfx & Ai I recon is way better than T2 even though I use the NTEX textures. T2 just seems harder but I enjoy the overall series.

There does seem to be a lot of hatred for Steam on the forums.
I can certainly understand people who, like Cardia, who don't have constant online access, but I don't really understand complaints about the client itself. Steam is convenient, cheap, and it hasn't failed me yet.
I'm just curious, where does the hate come from?
jtr7 on 5/6/2011 at 07:20
You noticed hate but saw no explanations? ;) I'm glad you understand how weak Internet undermines it. So many don't get that. Not having decent Internet yet needing Steam for most games is enough to generate a lot of hate, and there are those who don't understand what Steam is or does and they hate for ignorant reasons.

I don't, considering you can run the game in offline mode.

How do you do that without downloading from Steam or activating on Steam first, eh? You all arrogantly state the one as if it's possible without the other, without some unspoken intermediate step(s).
