any way of fixing it? what's causing it from the MTP?
No real way of fixing it that I know of. I think the game is hard coded to illuminate Garrett in Third person and since I disabled it for Minimalist, it wasn't a concern for me. The reason he looks that way is due to the alternate frob effect used in Minimalist.

I solved it for when I was using the demo - I just did the alternate frob thing a different way :) Even then, the frob was still a bit poo - you can't get it right with textures.
Is it possible to change it so that it just lightens the textures with the frob highlight, by using the editor or something, rather than overlaying textures?

I've found out that the frog selection effect only appear on garret when he's in shadows, and not when he's in light.
There must be a way to do it, as I don't remember that effect appearing on vanilla (original and unmoded) thief3 game.

As far as I've been able to find...nope, it's hard coded to frob the way it does.

Well, yes...we're aware of that. :) That's what it's supposed to do.

The effect was still there, but as I was saying earlier...the frob highlight effect is shared by different things in the game. When Minimalist replaces the frob shaders, everything that uses those shaders is affected. I honestly don't know of any way around it...might be possible to hack it in a different way. I honestly can't say.

using a different shader for the 3rd view of the player model ?
not using the frob effect from TMP, but the frob texture replacements from John P's pack?

I do - I managed to do it in the demo but I just can't remember and don't have the game with me to try.

Problem solved:
1) install Thief3+patch 1.1
2) install TMP v1.4.1 WITHOUT installing the new frob effect
3) install CTP v1.0
4) manaually re-enable the 3rd person cameras or eventually install GarrAT v0.6
enjoy

My bandwidth limit for this month has been exceeded. I 'only' have 100GB a month. If you wait until June 1st., the site and link will be up again.
In other news, I'm going to make a 'patch' which will replace the wall textures that people aren't happy with, as mentioned in this thread. No ETA on that though, I'm afraid.
