Bloody game.. I was saving and it crashed on me so now, i've got a damaged save file... I have just started the Clock tower and I don't really feel like going though ALL that again right away to get back to that point.. So i'm wondering if there is any way to take the save file and restore it, maybe edit around with it to get it working...

Just to clarfiy... you've just started the Clocktower, you don't have
any previous saves at all? So when you say you don't want to play all that again, you mean the whole game up to that point?
Assuming you don't mind playing from the beginning of the Clocktower again, this might work: download (
http://www.ttlg.com/Forums/showthread.php?t=87194) MrWynd's T3 saves, then you should be able to load his Clocktower save and restart at whatever difficulty you like (I thinkk MrWynd's are all on Normal).
Obviously this won't get your own exact stats, gear and loot/money back. Also, if you were using the widescreen hack, MrWynd's saves will break that too.

I have a habit of using the same save file, so i keep saving over it.. goes back to when you had a limited number of save blocks i think ^_^
Anyway, yes, i have just started. I have the save file damaged and a quick look shows alot of the data seams fine.. in fact, if i had enought skill, i can't quite understand why i might not be able to 'transplant' the data with the gaps filled in from another save file..
I don't use the widescreen hack cause.. i can't be bothered ^_^
Oh, forgot to say, thanks anyway... even if i can't get back my data, i can atlest fudge it with these

In this case, that's a good thing. The widescreen hack works in a really odd way. If you
had been using it and wanted to continue doing so, you'd probably have to start a new game :erg:
Haha, know what you mean about old games & limited saves. I seem to remember such issues with Daggerfall, and that was a game notorious for corrupting your saves. And most console games still have few save slots even though the machines have loads of storage space  Anyway, with T3 I highly recommend keeping a permanent save at the start of every mission. Not just in case of crashes - after you finish the game, you'll be able to come back & play any level any time you like.
I did that recently with the Xbox version (I have both versions; the Xbox one, ripped to HDD and with saves for every mission, is nice to pick up and play on a whim). It froze while saving about 5 mins from the end of the game. On rebooting, that save file had vanished - if that had been my only save, I think I would have shot my xbox.

Yeah, i'll do that in the future..
I'm trying to see if i can fudge it with replaceing files from one save but.. well, it loads into the clock tower so that is good.. but i have no gear at all.. and until i complete the level, i can't leave to see if any data like faction status etc has been loaded.. maybe a hex editor job... but out of my experince.. the PlayerFlags file SEAMS to store item data... but like i said, way out of my field..
