after all my years playing fan missions i think you should have mentioned playing by author and doing there first missions to helps you play there later missions a bit better

for example some one recommend a amazing mission but it pretty hard,but if you play there older missions first you get a better idea of how they do there objectives so doing there later missions gives you a bit of an advantage

excludes any new things they might add to later missions,but over all i think it helps alot

Thanks for making this. Whenever I finally manage to tie someone down to my office chair and make them play Thief with a gun pointed at their head, I struggle to know which fan missions to suggest first.

I agree with you that you really shouldn't play the ones consistently ranked 9/10 or 10/10 first, although I lean more heavily on the idea of "you'll appreciate the classics more if you've seen the mid-tier ones" than helping them figure out how fan missions are laid out.

Thanks for the video, marbleman! It was a nice selection of missions, quite nostalgic for me. :)

Even though I consider myself kind of a veteran in Thief FMs, the video included two missions I've never heard about, but now that I had, I will definitely try them out. One is Geller's Pride, it's a rather old mission, that's why I missed it. I've been playing Thief since 2015, so old missions tend to stay under my radar. The other one is Bloodmist tower. It's also an older mission, though not as old as Geller's pride. I like a good laugh, so I hope it will worth to try out.

My recommendation for a fan mission to novices would be Roofs of Gold. Actually, it is the first FM I've ever tried and I liked it so much that I started searching for othe FMs because of it. It contains a lot of verticality, a spooky dummy and a lot of snow (I like snow in Thief, the footsteps sound nice) and it's quite easy to navigate, since it's small.
