@ DrK: I don't know why you never knew about it. I honestly can't remember for certain but I seem to recall it is in the tips that come with the original game, either onscreen or in the literature. But whether I'm right about that or not, I've been doing it since the OMs. And once it's disabled you can pick it up and it goes into your inventory where you can use it later.
@ Brethren: True, though I suppose one could argue that with Garrett's skills it might not be too much of a stretch to think he could go from intricate lock picking to disabling a mine.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I guess I scooped up that goblet in a rush and failed to make the connection.
About the mine, wow, I had no idea! I'll be sure to include it in (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143694) this thread as that's exactly the kind of knowledge I still tend to lack.
I'll be continuing with Ruins of Originia: Gilded Rivalry soon!

Hahaha! That's awesome! Thanks :D

I hate to say this but the first 3 missions are triple carry-over, so the supplies you hoard in the missions carry over. From Mines of Margroth to Guilded Rivalry and then Fire and Ice. You get to spend all your loot all on the last mission in the pack.
Enjoy and good luck...

Ahhh, so there wasn't 8000 in that pouch! Well, I'll look forward to clearing out the entire store at the end of mission 3 then (or should I save something for Garrett's rent...) :)

Yep.. Your loot carries over. Also, did you ever go up the stairs where the bug-beast was near the cyclops lair?
Something you might want to know... In T2, you can disarm active mines with lockpicks and pick them up.
Also about that rope in the current in Guilded Rivalry: You can grab it, if you walk along the bottom. Very hard but isn't impossible... I have a capture of it...

I don't think I ventured all the way up, I guess I missed something important there, right? :)

Ah yes, I found out recently thanks to Tannar but Mines of Margroth was recorded before that. Luckily, that one particular mine in there worked out nicely in my favour.

Now I'm hoping there isn't a key component to one of the objectives in there, I'd have to do some serious step-retracing :D (part two is already recorded).

No... There isn't anything mission critical. Mostly eye candy and supplies up that rope... Also, have you tried shooting a live fish with a broadhead?
There is also a mana seed in Mines of Margroth. I think it carries over too. It's a little easter egg. If you hit it with a holy water arrow it spawns a climbable tree

Oh yeah... I forgot to suggest checking out the Bar in the town section of Mines of Margorth. There are two mini record players that both play songs.
