Thief Gold & The Metal Age movies re-encoded

I've uploaded the rars to my server, as the FTP links above are very slow.

I have a monthly bandwidth limit, so if you download these, can I please ask you to download them only once and upload them somewhere safe to keep for yourself? I think it would also be a good idea if you could publish some of your own download links. There are no end-user limits on my server, so please just be considerate and use discretion.

I've uploaded the re-encoded Thief videos to my mediafire. Since mediafire won't take single uploads larger than 200Mb, I had to split each set of videos into three archives.

edit:nevermind,it was eax which was causing the problem.I turned this off and i have sound in movies.

Okay I just downloaded these thank you for that, but they look horrible with terrible banding. The originals look better. Oh well thanks for the effort anyways.

EDIT: Wait I take that back, wth? I watched both with VLC and MPC-HD and they look great. In game they look horrible, obviously the issue is on my end. Do I need to do something specific with DDFix?

I installed VP6 codec and even tried replacing the .ax file with the VP6 ax file but now the movies don't even play.

Did you notice that movies in Thief Gold that were updated since The Dark Project are in much worse quality?

So if there's an idea to re-encode them then it's better to re-edit using as much of old material as possible?

There's no point anymore for this, since the newdark executable can play the original movies reliably with the ffmpg library without the problems that the old executable had.

Unless you're some kind of extreme purist that absolutely must have bunny jumping or rope death catapults. Or if you're playing thief 1/gold and get annoyed by the standing zombies to be honest (it's the most obvious newdark/thief2 bug).

Oh, I totally agree. I just came here from a link on gog's wiki page. They still think that re-encoding project is actual.
