Thief Gold and Win 10

I tried installing the game, but it won't install. The error msg says that it's a DirectX problem,
Anyone willing to help? don't want to miss so many new FM's.

Well, install DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) first

(http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=133946#install) See the FAQ here. First follow "Solution 2" (setup.exe -lgntforce) to install the game from disc. Then download TFix 1.26a (the link is also there in the FAQ) and install that.

Alternatively, you can skip the Thief Gold installer and just copy most files off the discs, then install TFix. The TFix thread has details on doing this.

I did a fresh TG install for the contest and had the same or similar install error, so followed the TFix instructions for doing a manual install (if you have the CDs) which worked fine:

-if you have the original CD release, and the game installer is not working, you can do a manual install - just copy the THIEF folder from both CDs to your hard drive (overwrite the folder from the first cd with the one from the second, that should make sure all the resources end up in just one folder), run TFix, and follow the instructions.

After running TFix I also copied the user.bnd file over from my old TG install to keep all my key bindings.

Thanks for the replies. I used the igntforce and it did the trick!!!! I also installed TFix.
Now I'm going to try fm sel!!!

Well, the loading works but I tried with a couple of fm's. Yandros' one starts with no textures at all, as well as "the hunt", and ultimate burglary starts with that mission with basso ond the whistle.........

Try it again. I don't know what happened, but I think it's broken. Delete everything and install the games again.

Have thief games on my HD now so just install from there, works fine.
