I've just bought a Thief Gold trapezoidal box, in brilliant condition. The only problem is that the seller sold it as complete, but there is no Eidos demo disc. In it's place is a 10-years expired piece of paper entitling me to a $10 rebate. Just what I need. I was wondering if anyone has a demo disc which they'd be willing to part with? Name your price.

I am not even 100 % sure they all had them. I just popped a factory sealed trapezoid a month ago, and it had the same exact contents.

The Trap boxes did not have a DEMO disc. Some of the bi-fold booklet editions did, but the TDP,and GOLD boxes did not.
The Platinum editions of THIEF, and TOMB RAIDER in the cardboard fold booklets did have. I think I have about 4 of the DEMO discs. To my best recollection there were a total of 7 such discs. Each numbered.

I have Gold in a Trap box. It came with the Eidos Demos Volume 6 disc which included the TG demo. It also had a nice little CD sized full-color game ad booklet with plugs for 20 games, some blurbs about Eidos and a nice little centerfold pic of various Eidos game stars (though not Garrett!). I also have the slick cardboard keyboard diagram for the original TDP keybinds and the Eidos registration card.
Sorry, Forge of Michael, it's not for sale! I stumbled across it years ago in an EB Games not long after I got TDP free with a soundcard, and it is one of my special treasures! ;)

Er, I'm getting mixed signals here. It's a trapezoid box, containing a keyboard chart, and a 4-slot foldout case containg the two game discs, a manual and a rebate slip. Is this... right?

To sum up, there have been several different releases, at different times, with different packaging, and different content.:)
Is there a date on the package? Any clue in the fine print about when and where your product was put together?

It is possible that some of the games boxed at different times may have had different things. Perhaps they didn't have any demo cds ready when your & theBlackman's copies were boxed? So they put in a coupon instead...which I don't have. I think my Mom has the Trap box. I'll have to call her and see what her copy has. I bought it for her some time after I got mine, so it likely was boxed in a different lot.
I'm curious to see what other people have in their Gold Trap boxes. Coupon, Demo disk (which one?) or something different.
And yes, I have the 4-way, fold-out cardboard case inside the box with 2 games disks, the manual & a demo disc.

Right. The game has a yellow sticker on the front - "Original Thief: Dark Project owners, get $10 back. Offer good through 9/15/2000, with purchase of Thief Gold. Additional $10 rebate on Thief II: Metal Age". Along with the rebate coupon in the last slot, I've just noticed, is a booklet with information about the new missions and the installation progress, with the Hammer symbol on the front. This last slot is labelled "Eidos demos".

Interesting. I know my box never had a sticker. I'm pretty sure it was bought in mid 2001, so definitely a later lot as that offer would have been expired by then. I checked with Mom, but I got her the plain fold-out package, not the Trap box. So, evidently I couldn't find a Trap box when I bought hers.

My Gold trapezoid box has the 4-fold digipack containing two game discs, a manual and the Eidos Demos volume 6. It also came with a keyboard chart, an Eidos registration card, an Eidos booklet advertising their games, a subscription card to Incite magazine, and another small black-and-white booklet detailing the changes present in Thief Gold.
And for $150US, I will sell the demo disc. I'll even throw in the shipping for free!
