Stats:
* Normal difficulty
* 47 minutes
* 8831 of 9556 total loot
Things I liked:
* There was more to the mission than I initially thought.
* The puzzle with the bird cages and the clocks adds a memorable element to the mission. Without it, it would be just a run-off-the-mill Hammerite monastery break-in.
* The congregation hall beneath the tower looks pretty nice.
* The ambient music in the large hall with all the sarcophagi is perfect, very atmospheric.
* The custom model of the mummy looks pretty frightening.
Things that could be improved:
* Most of the architecture in the mission is rather simple. The mission has 'box room syndrome', meaning many rooms are just that: a rectangular box with a door.
* Brightness in many rooms does not correspond to available light sources.
* Some doors clip through walls or through each other when they are opened.
* One corridor is so narrow you have to close doors because they block your way.
* The elevator ride down to the upper crypts is not smooth. Feels like the player model lags behind the elevator.
* Climbing all the ladders in the large hall with all the sarcophagi became repetitive. This room is impressively large, but tedious to search through.
* The backstory in the mission info file needs a rewrite and the "Collect X loot for your holiday!" objective is lame. There are no stakes here, no element of mystery.
* Why are there decorative Keeper statues in a Hammerite tower?
* One Hammerite acolyte is called "GarrettsShadow". Naming characters after forum members always breaks immersion.
* You can click on an acolyte in the lavatory and a text appears on the screen: "Please knock me out". Another immersion breaker.
* The journal about farting Hammerites comes off as a bit juvenile.
* Two books contain the instruction "(Turn the Page)". You don't have to tell me. This also breaks immersion.
* One readable mentions a drunk guard called Benny. This has been run into the ground. The Tower of St. Moria is a 2011 mission, so by that point we already had 10 years of fan missions mentioning “that wacky drunken guard“.
* New objectives pop up when you enter new areas. With no prior mention of Aldares' magic scepter or the Sword of Ariah in any journals, the objectives just appear. DarthsLair did not even try to tie these objectives to anything happening in the game world.

I enjoyed the T2 version, not having been able to finish the TG version back in the day (see posts 18, 20 & 24).
One small issue I had was that the hatch leading down to the Sword of Ariah did not open when I had taken all the demon tears and eyes.
The problem seemed to be caused by the fact that I had taken out the 'man on fire', who appeared part way through the gem-taking, with water arrows, before I had taken all the gems. When I retried having left the fire man alone, the hatch did open when I'd got all the gems.

When I played on normal difficulty, the 'man on fire' did not spawn and the hatch opened without problems.

i can't find a way to the upper crypts and to the tomb

I don't remember the exact steps, but you have to wind the cuckoo clock in high priest Morann's room first and then find the aviary. The entry to the crypt is hidden in the library. The archive with Ricebug's walkthroughs contains the solution.

i wound the watch and i found the aviary but nothing happens in the library

Use the Grandfather Clock Key from the aviary on the grandfather clock in the library. Then, inside the secret passage that opened next to the grandfather clock, use the bird cage from the aviary on the statue on the left.

i saw there is a thief 2 version of this same mission? but not sure ,but if the same not sure why it was made for thief 2 unless its for people who dont got thief 1/g
seems strane to have 2 of the same missions one for thief 1/g and one for thief 2,maybe it was more common in the old days of fan missions?

Yes, this mission is available for Thief 1 and 2. I think there were only minor differences, or none at all.
