I know that 856x480 is a 16:9 aspect ratio resolution. Might that be possible in your test? Anyway as of now the game is playing in widescreen at 800x600 and is slightly stretched. Even with that said the game actually looks amazing on my 50" DLP. Enough I guess I can live with the slight stretching.
Now this is interesting. I got a 61" DLP about a year ago but didn't thing that older games would look good so blown up. Hmmmm...perhaps it's time to dust off the older PC and give this a go.
Do you get the sound to come through the surrounds or though the TV's speaker only?

My PC is hooked up to me Home Theatre Receiver 6.1 surround. And if hooked up through my Audigy sound cards Digital jack I get Dolby Surround ( not true 5.1) in games, but get Dolby Digital EX or DTS ES with my DVD's. If your reciever has Analog hookups, which mine does I also hook up that way for EAX games. With the Audigy you just get the mini jacks to RCA jack cords to hookup, and then you have discrete 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 gaming, depending on your sound card and speakers/reciever. My system is 1000 watts so I can tell you not only new games but even old games sound FANTASTIC. You can also get this using PC speakers, like cratives surround speakers or the like. Just dont like the quality. Logitech THX series PC speakers are the best imo if you dont use a reciever. Enjoy and let me know what you think when you see them on your 61" DLP.

Hey dude I have an audigy 2 card and a reciever like yours. I have mine set up the same way as you using the headphone jack to RCA. But for some reason mine only recognized Front (Left & Right) Rear (Left & Right) and Center. But no sub. Why wont the sub work. It works if i using coaxial from the front panel in dvd's. but for true surround using analog ports in games no sub. HELP. If you solve this you will have solved a mystery i have had for over 1 year.

Yes I have solved it! Thats the good news. The bad news is it wasnt a fix that made sense to me. So I will have a look tomorrow and see what I did. Will have your fix tomorrow. And btw I had that problem for over a year too. Damn creative! I had tried everything and gave up on Analog thinking it was my reciever. After a Year I decided to try again after hearing I needed a 4-pole jack. Well that didnt work either. It was only luck that I tried some crazy ideas and one of those crazy ideas worked. Rest assured there is a fix and I will have it for you tomorrow. This will give me an excuse to clean the dust out of my PC. :thumb:

The solution I came up with Is to go from Rear surround mini jack to the center and sub RCA jacks and then from the center/sub mini jack to the rear surrounds RCA jacks! Dont ask me why this works lol. Enjoy.

I myself am also gaming on a 1920x1200 24" widescreen.
Apparently, I cannot find a way to hexedit it to run at 1920x1200
I'm assured it is possible, but how?

I'm not assured it's possible

Many have tried, and just as many have failed. Myself included. Theoretically, it must be possible, but if it is, it's friggin difficult.
