I've done a couple searches on TTLG, but haven't found a thread or post that refers to the same problem I'm having trying to install Thief Gold on my PC. Here's the error message I receive right off the bat, before installation can even begin:
'This product cannot be installed on Windows NT due to a MicroSoft (tm) DirectX Limitation.'
Problem is, I'm using XP, not NT. I really had the urge to go back and play this again (it's been years), but unfortunately just don't have the geekness to know what to do at this point (my husband used to take care of the tech issues). :(
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.

*smacks self in forehead* Thanks, Jeshibu! After all this time you'd think I'd look at the FAQs first. I'll give it a try.
Right now I'm installing TG on my late husband's pc; he had his partitioned to run either XP64 or ME. It's installing fine on the ME partition right now (but I've promised that PC to my son, so my time to use it is limited).
Many thanks Jeshibu! :cheeky:

You're welcome. Just try to look at the bold red sticky first next time, eh?

Technically, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT) Windows 2000 is NT 5.0, XP is NT 5.1, and Vista is NT 6.0. They were all built off the NT 4.0 base.

Thanks, Yandros. Followed the instructions in the FAQs and Thief Gold is now up and running on both PCs. I forgot that they improved the quality from TDP and am enjoying it immensely!
Thanks again for the help. :cheeky:

Yay! Don't forget there are some nice mesh and texture upgrades available for TG.
