Better uninstall the game and make the full installation, then make install.cfg look like this:
;cd_path h:\
install_path D:\games\ThiefG
language english
resname_base .\+.\RES
load_path .\+.\missions
script_module_path .\+.\missions
movie_path .\movies+.\movies

No I have a Typical Install.
Find the disc, or buy a new one, if you can find it. Without the movies and associated files that Live on the disc you are "Shit out of luck" permanently.
If you get lucky. Reinstall with THE FULL install and if you lose the disc again, you might be able to work around it.

Why would anyone not do a full install? To save a few hundred MB???
Looks like you'll just have to find a used copy of the game, maybe on eBay or Amazon

I have done a couple of typical installs on accident, just clicking 'next' really fast and not paying attention to the install dialogue. That's one mistake I haven't made since!
