Okay. I got TG working on my XP tower, now I'm trying to run it on my Win 7 laptop.
It installed fine with the -lgntforce command. Now, as I expected, I'm having problems running the game.
I set the affinity to run on 1 processor, run as admin, in compatibility mode. The movies won't at all play, even if I view any of them in WMP, Quicktime, etc.
When I start the game I get to the "intro" panel. I hear the mouse pointer move as I move my finger on the mouse pad, but the pointer itself doesn't move. Make sense?
System Specs:
Windows 7 Home, 64 bit
Intel Core CPU (four processors)
6144 MB of Ram
Page file: 2125 used, 9976 available
DirectX11
Many thanks in advance!
John.

Mybad. I got the intro movie to play, but now the game crashes whenever I select "Options" at the intro pane, or if I try to play.
I'll try a coupe of the suggestions here on ttlg and report back.

you have to actually run the TFix installer, just extracting the contents of the archive to your Thief folder will not be enough. and make sure to install the latest directx9 as well.

pretty sure you will get it running if you follow your own footsteps.

Interesting. I got it to work on my laptop after i downloaded another "patch"--which didn't/couldn't/wouldn't install--and now the game works on my Win7 laptop.
Methinks something is afoot.

The older versions of TFix were installed by unzipping them into the Thief directory. Is it possible you used one of those?
