I did notice there was at least one cray or frogbeast egg at the bottom of the pool outside the Scholar's Rest Inn - only one within frob distance. The frobbable egg won't go into inventory but it did take a shiny pebble from me however nothing happened so I reloaded and moved on. Assume there's nothing more there?

Is that red skull needed at the last resting place of Brother Jeff? I ask because I have found that place, but have left that wretched skull somewhere else!

all of the pebbles i've found have been downhill
from the crayman eggsThere's one almost on equal level.
It's on the floor in the isolation prison cell, the one with a proper door. Mind the occupant. ;)

Awesome mission! Finished in 1 hour 15 minutes with 3135/4820 loot and 9 pebbles. Never even found what to do with them, reading the comments here I think I'm definitely going to replay this one.
The level design was very well done, I never really got lost because I always found a vantage point or something similar where I could see places where I've been to previously, great non-linearity without being maze-like.
The skybox is beautiful, the view from the fort was amazing!

You need to
get on the roof of the inn where you started. An easy place to do this is from the slope where you ascend to the next area, you can mount the railings then mantle up the roof. (There's a talking plaque on the roof - and another on top of the abandoned church.) Once on the top of the roof you will see a large square chimney stack with a thin strip of wood along one edge. Put a rope arrow into the far end of that strip and then try to slide down onto the rope - it may take a few tries. You can then descend safely into a narrow passage that AFAIK is not accessible from ground level. The tomb of Brother Jeff is in there. Be careful, it is guarded with mines. Also the red skull appears to do nothing in that place. But you will acquire enough mines and fire arrows to deal with all the zombies in the mission. To leave, you will need to put a second rope arrow into the wooden panel on the side of the house in order to jump to your first rope arrow.

Thanks alot, I´ll definitely try that out when I replay. I was so sure the skull goes there, so I guess we have yet to find another place.. :D

Wonderful mission, thanks Nicked! My personal favorites were: instant action at the inn, tiny cracks in the roof at the attic, a body in the chest and finally a book "Tales from the Undercity" by K. Thack which I think is a reference to Whispers below the Cobblestone by Korthak.

There were some other references to FM authors as well, e.g., Morrgan. Also nice.
I too liked the mission, although the keep was not easy to survive, partially due to me not saving the game often enough. The weird crayman was also an interesting addition, as well as the new things availabe for Garrett's gear. And yes, some kind of follow-up mission (as someone suggested) could be a nice thing, too.

Speaking of Garrett's new gear, did anyone find a specific use for the seeds of fecundity?
