I got lucky and found sealed, original copies of Thief:Gold and The Metal Age at EB Games a couple years ago. They were like $8 each. Haven't seen either since then in a store, new or used.

Frankly, I didn't even think Thief Gold was still being published. I had to get my copy off of eBay. There is a company called Selectsoft that publishes TDP & TMA though.
I wonder if you look overseas or even in Canada. I got a new Thief DP sealed in a barebones jewel case published by Activision and Thief Gold that was similar, and these were from Canada. I don't know from when. About 2 years ago, when I was still in Europe, I got a cheapie Thief 2, which had been published by a British publisher called Sold Out.
I've never actually seen the first edition trapezoids in person.

I got a jewel-case-only Thief:Gold from a friend in Canada. He saw it at a gamestore and thought I'd want it(I put an APB out on anything Thief). It was in the bargain bin for a few bucks. Looking at the packaging, it's got Eidos/Looking Glass all over it, and the id# is PTHIEPUS62. Also, on the inside hidden in a corner, is a comment that says "A PDF manual can be downloaded from our website: www.hipgearproducts.com" I assume that's who re-published it.

Why do I even bother?
I apologize. Won't happen again.
