So I saw Thief Gold for download on EBgames. Is that a real usable copy of Thief Gold? And if so, can that copy be used for playing fan TG fan mission as well?
Also not sure if this is the right spot for this thread.

Considering it is legit, then you should have no trouble playing FM's. I'd be pretty wary of downloadable games though.

Read the FAQs and the stickied threads at the tops of the different Thief fora first if you have questions or problems getting started.
Uh oh:
Quote:
Sneak through the shadows of
12 treacherous missions including haunted cathedrals, subterranean ruins, and forbidding prisons, in a dark and sinister city. Stalk your prey on the quest for stolen goods with your blackjack, sword, and an assortment of unique arrows. Steal for money and uncover the hidden agendas of your allies and enemies as you play through an unravelling story of deception and revenge. Survive in a world where shadows are your only ally, trust is not an option, and confrontation results in death!
I wouldn't download it until you find out if it's really Dark Project, if they copied the description from Dark Project, or get a solid explanation why the description and the title are inconsistent. This has happened (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1689567#post1689567) elsewhere, recently. I don't know what you know about Thief Gold, but it has 15 missions, plus a "Blooper" mission. not to mention DromEd! There are tweaks, story changes, mission changes, etc., to work in the extra three missions. Don't ask which is better, there are arguments on both sides. But yeah, somebody made a mistake there.
There's one review at the bottom that makes it sound like it is Thief Gold, but it doesn't really verify for us.

I just bought Thief Gold the other day off Amazon for £8....being what i call a 'New School Thief fan' (having fallen in love with TMA first) i was no big fan of TDP thanks to Zombies and a big difficulty curve, but i'm prepared to give it another chance - the memorty of Playing Baffords Mansion on a demo for the first time has never left me...

I've played through TG before but now I have no copy of it. I am just trying to get another copy.

'Kay. So I take it you haven't determined if this is a Gold with Dark Project description, or Dark Project mislabeled as Gold.
I had to get my copy from overseas, without a case. I'm glad the envelope and the CD's survived the trip!

I found a used copy on Amazon for $14.50 US. Hopefully the cd's are in good shape. I think having original the original game disks is better than having a download.

Absolutely! Good luck with that.:thumb:
