hey all been a while since I last posted but anyway..
The last and only time I played and completed The Dark Project was when it first came out so I wanna play it again. I loved it and it's by far my favorite Thief game and probably in my top 5 of all time. I do still have the game but I was looking at getting Thief Gold..but the thing is i've heard that the 3 extra missions are totally forgettable and only harm the flow of the story..is that true?

well kinda.. i mean its only adds 3 levels but they are good levels infact id say some of the best ones, id say get ur hands on a copy and see what you think :thumb:

It adds more than three levels. ;) It adds more to existing levels, and a lot more to one in particular. It has tweaks and fixes for some buggy parts, new AI, the Blooper Reel easter egg, and the "Making of..." video.
And DromEd, the level editor. It also has desktop themes and stuff people find quaint but never use.:)
Well, this is all only if you purchase the discs. The downloadable version will only give you the expanded game.

Off the top of my head, in addition to the new missions (SPOILERS):
* The talisman missions were changed to have one talisman each instead of two.
* The craymen were removed from Lost City and replaced with an expedition of mages.
* A route was added to Lost City allowing people who manage to make the arena bridge jump to get back.
* The guards in the prison area in Cragscleft were sent on more thorough patrols.
* There's a new area added to the mansion in "Steal the Sword."
* Zombie combat behavior was reprogrammed, so they don't bounce back up right away if killed impermanently.
* Textures were changed somewhat in Bonehoard to give more distinctive landmarking.
* Fire Shadows were added to Bonehoard and Cathedral to provide a source of fire crystals, so you can't get stuck by running out (you can fail because the fire shadow kills you, of course, but you can't get stuck). Some architecture was changed (at least in Bonehoard) for their lairs.
That's all I can think of, but there's probably more.

My own personal opinion is that Gold is worth picking up as long as it's cheap. I think Dark Project is the tighter package and better for it, but the other bits are interesting to explore if only as an aside. I did (

That's the one! And a bonus for exploring the Gold package is that you'll know what a_lot of us are talking about when we mention Gold-specific goodies.:D

Thief gold is worth its weight in gold. Good luck finding it cheap. These days expect to pay at least $40.00, give or take.

whats the Little Big World?

Call it a side quest, you have to find it first. Its in Constantine's Mansion. First floor, by the water way, go north, separate room, jump out of the water way, four columns in the room, look behind one of them, find a small red lever to flip, a grate will open, go for another swim.

LITTLE BIG WORLD and Song of the Caverns did all of you forget? :(
