I've been playing through the Thief Gold missions lately and I noticed that when I'm swimming through water(submerged) that in most areas the view is suddenly dissapears and all I see is a random colour and nothing else. Now that I'm in the Lost CIty mission, I have to swim through a passage but I can't do so because when I try to it just blinds my view and I have to rely on my directional sense to get through. Is there any way to fix this glitch?

Hmm... That happened to me before, basically I could do nothing about it, but lets hear from the pro's, shall we?

In original TDP in Bonehoard and the Lost City the water got sort of 'enlighted', the screen filled with sun rays in 40 degrees, like it was filtered through thick trees. Not the same problem, but water indeed has its troubles.

Unfortunatly I think it's a video card issue. I've gone through 4 different cards since I first played thief. Each one rendered water differently.

tch, yeah, i get that problem in T1/G too. it gets pretty annoying after a while, but i used a flare, and things seemed to "light up", if you will, but only on certain occasions. yeah, i think it is because ur video card renders water differently than what it was originally intended to be rendered (i use Nvidia only, tho, and only get that problem with cerain angles/depths, it may also have something to do with your brand of graphics card.) but thankfully, i have a pretty good sense of color difference, so i can see where the corners are, sometimes, which is wierd because im severly nearsighted, lol! :laff:

My problem was looking anywhere down in water turned the screen black or brown. Reloading, exiting, even reinstalling did not fix it. I cannot remember if the video card was replaced recently, but I played T1, and the water seems fine.
This is why I only played T2 FM's.
