Thief Gold XP Problem

I have this problem where Thief Gold does not perform certain tasks such as displaying the "Objective Complete" message and sound when I complete an objective. It also does not play the cut scenes, intro or credits. Anyone ever have this problem?

The sound was a new thing brought about in Thief 2. Thief Gold and TDP does not play a sound or notify you of the completion of an objective.

That's weird, I guess I spent more time on T2 all those years ago. Any idea on the cut scenes? The simply do not play and just take me to the "Play Mission" screen.

Thanks for posting that link but I already followed those methods and it still didn't work. Sometimes uninstalling then reinstalling the game would work but now nothing works. Say I click on the "Intro" button on the game menu, the screen will blink and then remain at the menu.

Try playing the game through Garrett Loader... I believe it runs a video fix before it plays any om or fm...
