And burricks are a little similar to that sonic-wawe belching creature from HL 1 (specifically, the Opposing Force expansion pack). ;)
Another headcrab analogue would be the spiders :
Sure, they can't "mate" with your head and turn you into a ferocious zombie-like monster, but they can jump at you, bite you and (in the case of the Chaos Spider) even entangle you in webs or shoot you with energy beams. :p

Lol, you mean the hound eyes? (or bullsquid?)
In reply to first post of this thread:
Holy shit, I never thought about it like this <img width=30 height=30 src="http://www.ttlg.com/forums/images/smilies/wot.gif"> , but thief and half life
do bear a similar resemblance in terms of storyline. (granted, both games are completely different styles and different timelines, etc.)

Yeah but you could do it for anything:
A mysterious hero must travel to another world and shut down the technology that is allowing evil creatures to invade his home = Quake 2.
A very skilled master of stealth investigates mysterious goings on in a dark, dystopian, gothic city = Batman.
Never knowing his parents, a hero must accept his destiny if he is to stop the rise to power of an evil god = Baldur's Gate.
Narrative conventions are pretty easy to twist.

I'm kinda late to the party so most of you probablly know of this already, but I was playing HL2 for the first time last week and I couldn't help but notice this.
Dr. Breen, in the last level of HL2:
“Tell me Dr. Freeman, if you can, you have destroyed so much, what is it, exactly, that you have created? Can you name even one thing? I thought not.”
Karras, in the last level of Thief 2:
"What hast thou... built, Garrett? When the time comes to review thy life, with the Master Builder afore thee, and the question is asked: what hast thou built, what will thee say, poor Garret? For thou art a man of... destruction, not construction. Tis the biggest sin of all. Build thyself today a good house, that would please Him much!"

Ravenhook=The Haunted Cathedral!

Lol Ravenholm is most certainly not equal to THC. It is well light and the zombies are slow and idiotic. You have fun dicing them to bits with objects thrown with the grav gun. It's everything the Cathedral isn't.
