Thief I & II on a 64bit / DualCore PC. - by Fallen+Keeper

Hello fellow taffers, friends of old :D
I'm about to change my pc, switching from my Athlon XP 2600+ to an AMD 64bit, maybe with a dualcore processor. I wonder if anyone has already played the game on those machines, and if there were any problems.
I'm also thinking about a new GPU, like one of those new X radeon series.
Thanks
FK

Thief Gold runs problemlessly on my Athlon 64 on Windows XP x64 Edition.
Naturally, I have 64bit drivers for graphics card and soundcard.
Surprising is, that I didn't have to install it using -lgntforce command.
Even the cutscenes play in game like they are suppossed to.
The only problem I have is that sound sometimes switches to sewer-like echo, even though I have EAX turned off. I'm still using old SoundBlaster Live Value with EAX 1.0, and there is probably a problem with the 64bit drivers for it.
Overall, I have no use for SBLive's early EAX in games, it just doesn't work well.
Fortunately I can plug my speakers/headphones into Realtek chip...
Dual Core, that would be a different matter. Some people around had problem running it on DCs, but found a solution for it. Search around.

Got it. I'll keep my Athlon XP for Thief. Thank you :)

(didn't I say that in essence it runs quite okay? Uh... well suit yourself)
