I've seen it peeps mention that thief II is playable in linux, but I have not been able to find any links or any substantial information on it. Can someone give me a link or something? Also are there any utils for thief I/II in linux?

Never mind I found a FAQ somewhere that said it runs in cedega. That of course is completely different from it actually running in Linux.

You could try WINE. Don't know if it works with that or not.

I tried it on Cedega about 6 months ago. It only worked in Software mode AND movies didn't play. I posted it as a suggestion to improve older games and mentioned Thief specifically every month I was a member for about 5 months. I gave up as few games work in Cedega without using other tweaking or in most cases third party intervention.

It is possible, using wine, but wine does not solve the CD check problems, so you could need a no-cd. I only have a problem with the mouse cursor - it does not hide, so there is a mouse cursor all the time you play in the center of the screen.
My thief 2 does this, didn't check how the thief1 works. (Using the CVS version of wine).
Kerrle reported that 0.9.6 version of wine works, if I'm correct.
