I intalled Thief 2x on this computer that is newer than what I used to play Thief II a long time ago. However, when I start the first mission of the game(both MA, and 2x) the screen is rainbow colored, like, a negative of a photo, except with bright colors, then it says:"The requested screen resolution mode could not be set." and the game craps out onto windows.
I've patched T2MA to 1.18, and I have tried changing the resolution(640x48xetc) in game, installed the game with the start run, extension for Windows XP but they dont work. This comp is P4 1.5g, 512 RAM, and I have a nVidia Vanta that is 16mb:tsktsk: Does suggestions as to what the problem may be? Thanks.

thief1/2 uses 16bit color at the set resolution
do you have a refresh rate overwriting program you have run or have running?
some of those break some resolutions and bitdepths
it's definately videocard related
can you run other games?
