I just re-installed TMA and then upgraded it with the Thief Enhancement Pack, NTEX, and the sound enhancement pack. One word: wow.
I finished Thief: Gold a few weeks ago and while the first Thief was a monumental, mesmerizing, mind-blowing masterpiece, Thief II is just better all around. Better graphics, more intense missions, and more engaging gameplay. The level designs are simply superior in TMA.
The first Thief brought us such gems as Down the Bonehoard and Return to the Haunted Cathedral, but even these levels are surpassed by the likes of Shipping and Receiving, Life of the Party, and Trail of Blood.
Do you agree that TMA is superior to TDP/TG, and what are your favorite levels?

I was waiting for someone to say that and let me say that I love you :D hehehe.
I wholeheartedly agree, I played TMA first and loved it but when I played T:G I didn't get the same feeling and had to force myself to complete some of the missions because some of them got so tedious or just down right difficult(had to consult a walkthrough for pretty much the last quarter of the game).Mages Towers and Thieve's Guild are possibly the most evil missions in all Thief history(curse them:mad: )

Mage Towers is my favorite TG mission. :( I really enjoyed it.

T2 reigns for me in the FM scene. I prefer Thief gold over T2.
I love them both. I found T2 MORE tedious and boring than thief gold. To each his/her own.

I tried the upgrades thingies, but always, I ended up having the original installation. Why? Because the oldish atmosphere makes the games. When you got all that nifty textures and stuff, it just ceases to be the original thief.
As for me, I totally admire TDP/TG for the atmosphere.
And TMA for the nice mission design I really like.
To sum it up, I don't have a favourite. TG is atmopheric, a bit weird, open and makes you think (and sometimes scares the hell out of you). TMA is (at least for me) a more casual gaming which is not so tense, but it's balanced out with the nice areas in the missions themselves.

Absolutely not! :laff:
My favourite levels from TMA are... well,
Life of the Party obviously (although it was better as the demo mission
The Uninvited Guest), and
Sabotage at Soulforge; those were good. The rest are more dime-a-dozen material surpassed by a whole lot of fan missions.
Your mileage may vary, though.

TDP is king

I like TDP more than TMA, without a doubt. And the reason is the atmosphere.
The former game is more "old-fashioned" imo, no bots or cameras. (god I hate those cameras. . . ).
Though once Escape! came along, the experience started going downhill for me. :erg:
