No. Not only does Thief II require at least 4mb of video memory, it also requires that the graphics card is 3D-accelerated, which the video chipset in that laptop almost certainly is not.

Wow, they still have labtops with 2.5 MB video cards?

Nope, I've found it in Denmark, it was thrown away. As for me, all is ok, I can play old games, even thief I is SWmode, but, but, but... wanna t2 :)

Blimey... I'm surprised you can play Thief I with that thing... I have an old 4MB ATI Rage II that can't even play Thief in software mode. Well... It kinda can...
What's the framerate like?

In 1024x768 about 20-40, maybe because of 450Mhz

Thief Gold ran very smooth (50+fps) on my old first generation Pentium series cpu at 90 MHz however, I had replaced the original video card with a Voodoo 2 3000 16MB.
The graphical improvement and frame rate increase was remarkable. The one thing that I do remember being a pain though, was the 5+min load times.

The Dark Engine sure is a tough old bastard. I remember playing Thief in black and white mode just after a WIN98 reinstall with no graphics card drivers installed for my Riva TNT.
