Hello, I was wondering if there was a mod that updated the textures on Thief II. It's still playable, but better textures world be great. If there is such a mod, please post a link.
Thanks

Welcome to the forums. Next time search first before posting. :)
Anyway, the term "Textures" can be misleading. If you mean world textures, there is NTEX.... if you mean object textures there's the enhancement pack (which i see both were linked by manicman.) There's also some other stuff, like a "sound enhancement pack;" mesh textures for AI by TDBonko...

thanks for the links. I will make myself a little more clear: ( which I think the links will help with) I want the guards/monsters and building to look better. So that texture mod, will help then?
Also, it didn't mention how to install the mod? can someone give me some instructions?
Could this mod mess with my game files? it took me days to install this game on my system, and would not like to do it again.
Sidenote: is there a way to adjust the brightness in thief 2: i can hardly see.

how to install the mods would be given with the mods themselves
You can change the brightness via the (wait for it) Brightness Control on the options-Video menu in game.
as for improving the look... iffy term there.. i much perfer the look of Thief 1&2 over DS anyday... i'm not one for high-polycounts and 3D models = better

The EP (link #1) upgrades many of the objects, but not AI (guards/monsters). The hi-res texture pack (link #2) updates some of the terrain (building) textures, though some of them are quite different so whether or not you consider it "better" is a matter of taste. Plus, many FMs won't benefit from the second pack, since they use many custom textures, but in that case they often look better than the texture pack anyway. There is no hi-res upgrade for the AI, although some hi poly versions have been released to the editing community.

I was expecting a smart @$$ comment there. I didn't realize brightness was changed through "gamma" adjust.

Binding for gamma is + and - by default, I think.

sorry.. i'm not big on reading the game manual first either but surely that's still the first port of call for basic things...

And that's what I meant when I mentioned TDBonko in my last post, just for clarification.
