Thief III FM: the Walk Sept. 28/05 - by Logan

Its the glml file causing the issue, although why I am not sure I think GL is being denied access to write the converted to HTML version for some reason. I should be able to get to the root of this quite quickly (its odd as it works well with pretty much everyone else, it may just be a timing thing on a slower hard drive).
agarcia8, when was the last time you defragmented your hard drives?

Just finished "The Walk". Good work:thumb: AFAIK, author would start (or already started) with sequel. Probably it would be nice to have upcoming sequel and this short mission in one package (also with some performance issues fixed - it seems as too many unimportant things cast shadows and lights/shadows optimization is not done - not sure, probably I'm wrong). I'll try to contact author in Dark Fate forums...

The zip isn't corrupt, I found the problem is with the readme.glml file.
If I delete the readme.glml file from the FM zip file, I can install and play the game, so that's the problem. I can't understand why?
Potterr
my hard drive is a Seagate 160 GB SATA and I defrag the drive once a week.
Thanks to all for the Help, I moved this post to the (Can you use GarrettLoader?) thread.

Very very strange. Cause as I remember potterr made it by himself. And i can't see this mission in GL list without this file!!!.

This has been fixed in the next version of GL. I think it was simply down to timings when the GLML file is being converted.

Hi, I downloaded this file from here:
(
http://82.199.102.13:8080/FILEARCHIVE/FAN-MISSIONs/Deadly_Shadows/Walk/)
It was a 7zip file, which I repacked without the included system folder into a zip file. The game ran fine using GL 1.12.
My question is, I did not get a mission briefing, so I do not know what percentage of loot I found. Is this normal for this mission?

Thats the russian version, there is a zip file version there as well which has the english translations.
If you set your language to french on the one you downloaded you should get the briefing...in russian though.

Ah okay. I finally figured out that the download link for the file was behind an ad. That Megaupload site is the worst ever! Works just fine now. (good mission, by the way!)

I looted the painting on the wall in the rich, young lady's room; it was sparkling, it frobbed, and I was able to take it -- but it didn't count as loot, nor as a special loot item (of course, I don't know whether or not it was supposed to be one).
I have 85% of the loot (90% required), and I'm wondering if this error makes the mission unfinishable. Did anybody else have this problem?
Also, my framerate playing this mission is atrocious all the way through... but I've had framerate problems on several T3 FMs, as well as a continuing, cyclic framerate problem on T2 FMs, so maybe it's just me. Anybody else experience slowdown on The Walk?
Thanks,
Dafydd

I had a slow down near one the Domestic's Entrance door in the east. What video card do you have? Most framerate problems mainly centered around ati 9200 cards.
