im making an epic D+D (Dungeons and Dragons) campaign, and I've made some custom classes from Thief (ie: Glyph Keeper, Keeper Enforcer(prestige class)), and was wondering if any1 had any suggestions that could help me incorporate some more thief stuff into my epic campaign.:thumb:

Your looking at the wrong system for thief RPGs... and expecially not epic:tsktsk:

I wouldn't say it's an inappropriate system at all; D&D's skill system does a pretty good job of stealth and thief skills assuming you handle it intelligently, and there's plenty of material for traps and breakin challenges. Of course all that stuff works a whole lot better if the players are all thieves, rather than fighters and wizards waiting in the sidelines while the one thief gets his 30 minutes of spotlight time.
But Epic-level thieving? Hell no.

People still play D&D!?
I thought it died back in the early '80s. I still have my old Player Guide's, Monster Manual, and Dragon magazines around somewhere.

The nerdery lives on. However, it's a rather different beast now than the one you used to play in the 80s.

Yeah, instead of one book filled with stupid spells you're getting now three books filled with stupid spells.
I'm not much of a friend of the D&D system, I modified the Chaosium sys a bit and it worked fine for me. Njah, matter of personal preference.

I stopped playing D&D when someone told me I was playing it wrong and I couldn't figure out the rules.

I first played DnD wayyy back when there was only one company, one set of rules, and Gary Gygax all over the joint. I stopped mostly because I rarely had anyone to play with and when I did we didnt follow the rules very well.
I got back into it just recently because my roomie still plays. I've been having a lot of fun. I think the new rules ( not to mention having a DM who actually knows what he's doing) do a lot to make the experience even more enjoyable than I remembered.
That said, I dont see why a Thief inspired campaign would be a big problem, provided you did the background work and as someone else said, didnt leave half the party behind for excessive periods watching while Garrett had all the fun. Course I've never played an Epic campaign, I have no idea what is involved and what problems it might cause.

well, i did consider a Thief-specific campaign, but im more thinking along the lines of a Thief-inclusive campaign. The reason it's an epic campaign is because, the way i have my campaign set up, it would take more than a few months to complete, besides, i also have the Epic Level Handbook (3.5 of course). Also, ive played in a regular campaign, things just went way to slow for my tastes, w/ an Epic, things may not be a whole lot FASTER perse, but you dont die as easily and my campaign is about people who are already elites in thier fields, attempting to reach legendary power... and eliminate the fierce opposition in thier way. Also, i was thinking along the lines of Thief-esque classes, prestige classes, monsters, religions, etc.. Like i said b4, its not a Thief-centered campaign, just a Thief-inclusive campaign.
:sly:
and one WAY off the topic question:
would Garrett qualify as a Paragon Human instead of a regular human (basically, they are better than the base by like 15 fold)... he DID end up saving the world like 3 times, which i think would qualify him as a Paragon Human.

Whoaa..I used to be a D&D super geek and I have no idea what this means. Things really have changed since I last played (1980).
