Has anyone ever experienced something that came from a computer game?
Sometimes I lie awake at night and I hear motorcycles racing along the main road up on the hill.
It's eerily reminiscent of the ambience in that level of TDP, The Haunted Cathedral.
The other day I was also listening to the radio while driving, and on the one commercial, I could have sworn I heard someone get hit with a blackjack!

Well, nothing like that comes to mind at the moment but when I am outside at night I continually find myself standing in shadows. :tsktsk:
But just how do motorcycles remind you of THC?

Yes they do but I meant when walking on well lit streets! :laff:

Back when I was delivering morning newspapers, skulking around yards and corridors felt quite thiefy. I sometimes wonder what I would have said to the police if they had noticed me dashing from shadow to shadow, inching along while being pressed to walls, etc. It was great fun. :ebil:

Well, I have developed a quite good sneak skill. But, I hasten to add, not out of wanting to become Garrett. I strongly stress that. :cheeky:

Sounds like something Garrett would say.

Have any of you ever LARPed? LARP is Live Action Role Play. You know, people dress up and fight one another with foam swords and bad fake accents.
I've taken up a hobby I call LARP-raiding. I skulk their forums and learn when and where they meet in my state, and then I show up and grab a camp ground somewhere nearby on that week end. I spend the whole week end stalking around their LARP areas practicing my skills. Especially if they do anything at night, they tend to not use flash lights very much probably to help immersion in their fantasy environment.
I never do anything to them, that's key (and I avoid their tent areas as to not violate their privacy... mostly because I don't much want to see that anyway). It's merely a way to train my own skills in stealth. I just sneak around and eavesdrop, and try to get as close to their high traffic areas as possible.
Granted, I use charcoal and mud in my natural camouflage techniques, all stuff I learned from the Tracker School; and that stuff makes you look crazier then the LARPers. No LARPer has yet caught me, but if they do I'll just play it off like I'm a troll or something. I can handle getting whacked a few times by a foam sword.
Still, sneaking around with everyone around me dressed up in fantasy attire and using accents, it's a very Thief-like experience. Especially with the added tension of not wanting to get caught. It can get pretty intense when a sword fight breaks out a few feet away from your shadow.
