CommShat makes me wanna play Thief. Vivian makes me wanna play Thief by myself. Vivian proves my point.
:joke: :joke: :joke:
Thief doesn't ever bum me out like the black cloud of CommShat, which only cheers me up once in awhile.

Vivian, you're reading too much into that. We aren't playing WoW.
Digital Nightfall on 20/12/2008 at 05:45
Maybe that's what's wrong with me. I need to actually play the game.

well, I hate to be the voice of reason, but if a PC game is literally the only thing that cheers you up you need to reassess yourself in some way.
I heard what your saying, I am and a well balanced person, but getting the wind knocked out of ones self over and over(mum died, best friend died, then some other sh*t i wont go into) tends to wear a person down. But I can play a game of thief, get a nights sleep and Im ok :)
there is no other forum like this one, in fact I havent played a game or posted in a forum as long...

well, I hate to be the voice of reason, but if a PC game is literally the only thing that cheers you up you need to reassess yourself in some way. Surely you interact with some kind of people that are capable of enriching your life? Also, people look shallower the less you actually look at them. Just saying.
PS if in london and fancy pint them am always up for it and have been told am good company if in charitable mood
ie no bullshit about marvel or wow
or snow patrol
PS an certifiable not wierdo. get published next week as real science person!
shit, maybe not next week as its christmas, but I bet its REAL soon
it's no surprise that in a modern society like ours various hobbies and things which now and then distract people from their every day life are also becoming more and more modern. back in the day people sat around a table or a fire and told each other stories. now they play those stories. so i don't think they should be called freaks or dreamers. just people who seek entertainment using modern possibilities to do so.

Technological advancement is the ultimate downfall of society. Well, the way it's been exploited. Sure, there are things, that rather make you smarter then dumber (Deeper music, Thief, really really great strategies), but they are completely too few.
People are too used to techno/club music and retarded movies or brainless shooter games, that their brains have been screwed and they get very lazy.
But seems like looking at the history there will always be terrible exploits for good things.
That was about sick, shallow society.
But it just seems like here, Thief is really meant for more mature and wiser people ect and dumber/diffrent type of people (smart people with diffrent interests) just stop playing this really quickly. Probably that made this community immortal.
I hope i said everything right, but i probably sound arrogant again, don't i. It's not arrogance, it's wisdom...
Also, hope i sound like a big enough smart-ass, since that's what i could probably be by definition.
Oh, Bikerdude, sorry for your close ones. Life tends to do that... and yet life goes on for you.
I'm not much of an advice giver at my age, but you could just make a fine Christmas atmosphere and have great holidays with ones you (hopefully) still have, have a bit of wine (steal from Bafford or something?) and get the freaking christmas tree aswell lol.
Also, remember this:
What does not kill me, makes me stronger - Friedrich Nietzsche.
P.S. Probably alot of this text was unneeded/already known, but still, remember that i only wish well for you and everyone else.
