As long as lauryl is present in some way i don't give a rats! (strangely, yes, lauryl is my facourite character. Tragic deaths always make for good characters...)

 As for one Taffer who fell in love with Thief the minute I played the first one, I can only hope there will be a IV out there somewhere in my future. I have played dozens and dozens of games over the years and count Thief in the top 5 of all time. Course, my favorite was II and III was a bit of a disappointment after waiting a lifetime for it to come out, but quite understandable considering all of the turmoil and changeover going on.
If I didn't have the fantastic fan missions made by the very dedicated, artistic, hard-working, and brilliant co-lovers of Thief, I would be very sad. They are the ones who deserve all the kudos for doing such a great job for no money and little fame.
I will watch and wait and hope. TDS left an opening...heck, it doesn't have to slap you to wake you. A kid tries to pick G's pocket...a "new" Garrett in the making? Will he go into training? Garrett is a keeper-will he teach the youngster all that is to be known...let's see, we did Metal Age, then DS...what era should IV be set in? No, I can't see Garrett doing anything other than what G does best...a loner, a rebel, a thief...but a lovable one.
I heard a rumor about a potential movie but havent' heard anymore...my recommendation...Vin Diesel, hands down. I have been away from the forums for a while so I offer a huge apology if this has all been discussed to death.
Take care...thanks for doing the great jobs you do...Stallowen:thumb:

I'm in agreement here. In my opinion, fan missions have expanded the concept and story of Thief far beyond the scope and ability of any professionally-made,
official Thief IV. Looking Glass gave us the foundation and the fans have taken it from there and turned out some incredible work. I, for one, wouldn't mind at all if the series weren't continued
officially, since the "dedicated, artistic, hard-working, brilliant" lovers of the Thief series have provided us with a hundred times more enjoyment and material than any official installment could possibly produce.

Vin Diesel?
Vin Diesel?? I'm trying to think of someone less suitable for playing Garrett, and it's hard.
Chuck Norris maybe?

Nah. Jean Claude Van Damme is easily worse.

Yeah, now I've had time to think about it, it's a bit easier. Adam Sandler, John Wayne, Ben Affleck.

Chuck Norris created Garrett and the Thief Series. Those ****ers at LGS stole his work. Yeh, you knew what this was.

Thing is, as i've been reading through more, 3 is a trilogy(i knew that already), and trilogies usually end. Thief is a trilogy, and it should end. Thief 4? Not a good chance at all, it's a bad financial path no matter who you try to appease. Mass media-market appeal gets the large fanbase for the originals pissed and in protest, bad for publicity and finance. Keeping it true to the series is bad as well because the audience is selective and quite small. So, any CEO with half a brain would say "No.". Well...maybe a delusional one would say yes, or just a very, very, very (kay serrah serrah) optomistic one...
And a thief movie? Thief God(s) save your soul for speaking such blasphemy! Thief is on a personal level in that sense, and a movie isn't particularly personal...

will a new thief be made? i definetly think so....
but i do not think they will continue in this trilogy... i think it will work if they open a new triology once the rights are givin to someone...only eidos can do that
PRAY THAT THE DAY WILL COME PATHETIC MANFOOL!

If there is no Thief 4, I wish badly, then, that we never run out of those "dedicated, artistic, hard-working, brilliant" lovers of the Thief series!:) Or I'll get damn depressed :erm:
