Egads, the physics were pretty bad in T3. The devs themselves said that they barely got them working. I wouldn't even want to hear tell of a Thief 4 in the Flesh engine unless it received a good overhaul. Best thing a company could do right now, is build a Thief 4 in the Doom 3 engine. It's got that thief style in spades.

Just because they didn't use Havok like every other game out there.

Watchoo talkin' bout Willis? They used Havok, but said they had a horrible time getting it to work in the flesh engine.

I don't think it had anything to do with the engine... I suspect it had to do with the horrible rigging of the models.

Rigging on the models? Would they be why they'd keep forming backwards bridges with their bodies, snapping their spines in half, whenever I blackjacked them :p?

Yeah, probably another reason for it.

If we can gain access to that part of the model, perhaps we could somehow fix it by fusing their spines. LOL

If the blackjack animations could somehow be fixed, it would go a long way towards making T3 more fun. As it is, it's unsatisfying to blackjack someone when they don't fall properly.

Good physics or bad physics, if there was no HalfLife 2, I guess people would be in extasy from it. I'd say it's ... satisfying. EXCEPT that clumsy ragdoll effect.
I realized I am quite allergic to sensitive physics, for example, in FEAR I was annoyed everytime I just slightly bumped into a small can or crate on the ground, it flied like two metres away, making such a racket. Would anyone want to make noise in Thief 3 anytime by just randomly bumping into a pot on the ground? Dunno.
Yes, I guess there is some point of realism beyond which it starts to negatively affect gameplay of a given genre...

That is definitely the worst misspelling of "Thief 2" I've ever seen.

Possibly. But you cry too much. :erg:
