Also, what Gambit said. Both Might and Magic VI and VII are very worthwhile.

Any first person adventure like Azrael's Tear? I think it gets close to a first person exploration game.

You've..........run out of FM's? No way.
Oh yes i am playing 7-8 years now:cheeky:
Seriously i ask if there are any games with exploring gameplay because i believe this is what thief is all about. "Find an item, an information or loot. All that well tied in a nice story. To understand what i am saying think of removing all the searching and exploring and put everything in a linear way like splinter cell. "knock the guard, climb the lader, hide in the shadow, take the loot, exit trough the sewers "mission complete". Sure i use stealth playing fm's but haven't you notice that 90% of the time you spent playing fms is while searching exploring for something special.

Seriously, you could replace "thief" with "Azrael's Tear" in that sentence and it would be 100% relevant :D
AT is great for exploration. It's quite non-linear, you can complete the tasks in different order or even different ways, the areas can also be accessed in multiple ways. In fact, exploring and experiencing the Aeternis complex is what the game is really about. The readables and dynamic conversations are really interesting too, since there's a lot of intrigue between the different factions of the immortal knights, plus backstory about the Templars, the Grail and Aeternis. I really can't recommend AT enough.
EDIT: Check out (

I recently run out of fm's and i thought what made me stuck playing for hours those missions. The answer is the exploration gameplay nature of thief game, it is something you dont find easy on first person games. Wonder if there are any other first person game with main gameplay "exploration" like thief 1,2.
I enjoyed penumbra 1,2 wich was 100% first person exploration/adventure game. Any others?
Stalker is pretty much about exploration, not only shooting. And it's dark and creepy too atmosphere-wise, also it's a simulator in terms of game mechanics as Thief is. I guess if you like Thief and Penumbra you should like this thing too.
