Wouldn't a Thief Meet be more fun without those guys?:ebil:
Hmmm, none of the ttlg'rs in the other thread have posted in this so you might be on to something...

I think what he probably meant was that Bikerdude's meet is focused very much on Thief and trying out stuff relating to it (monitors, multiplayer, etc. more like a LAN party), whereas the "TTLG" meets are less concerned (as we've all seen from the pics) with the actual games, and more just a social thing.
I won't be going to either, of course, because I hate all you guys :)

My point earlier, the meets, I've been to more than a few of them, you cover the gamut of topics. When there is a bunch of people, it happens. It may have some thief talk sure, I'd lay odds other stuff will come up too.
I'm sure they hate you too. :) ;)

Nice thought BA. Only problem I see is that at Biker's we'll be expected to do some thieving before getting to the drinking part and the CommChat lot would just want to miss out the thieving bit. :D
Besides, they're all very, very, scary.

I'd love to make it if I was in UK. Been a taffer since release of T1. Is there a link to discussion on the other meet? Thanks.

Ok, I am, 1st: A thief and 2nd: a ttlg'r
i didnt think about sneaking about and some taffer playing keepers who will be watching who gets the the most loot and being spotted the least.... that is a brilliant idea...
I will devise a game with stashes of 50p stacks, in genuine money pouches for taffers to find....(which they will get to keep of course)
we love you too FN, and Im just waiting on a few famous authors to confirm they will be attending and the meet is ON...!!!

I've met about a dozen people off TTLG and Eidos, all different backgrounds, and always a good time. Meets are always fun, regardless of who shows up. :) I love to meet people, it doesn't matter, as long as it's TTLG, we're all good. Meet and have a good time, thats what it's all about!

not knowing Scotts very well, I don't know when he's kidding or not.
Seeing as this was pretty much exclusively a Thief Gen meet thread, my pretty obvious joke in the other thread was just poking fun at the fact that most CommChat people may have played Thief once but certainly aren't in the habit of replaying it nor really associate with it terribly much.
I'm sorry if it rubbed you the wrong way but I think most people in TTLG, whether you associate primarily with ThiefGen or CommChat, can see that I was just joking as to the extent of the forum divide in that regard.
Fingernail and nickie have already, correctly, pointed out that gaming is pretty much a non-topic at the CommChat meets and you're much more likely to have a rabid discussion about a TV series or movie or books than Thief.

Did you really mean that, or was that meant for the people you want to meet and accept in your group.
Not really sure what you're really intending to reflect here by crossposting something totally out of context but regardless, I've made good friends on TTLG, I've met people who I clicked with and probably could be pretty good friends with and of course, I've also met people who I didn't particularly click with. That's life. I wouldn't go to any meet expecting any more or any less than what you might when you go to a party of a friend of a friend.
I'm at neither meet so I hope everyone enjoys theirs. I always get a lot out of TTLG meets, personally, even just putting names to faces is very refreshing.

Ok, this thread seems to be getting off-topic a tad,
nuff said.
