Thief and smells you ask? What kinda dumb.....
Well it's well known that smells can trigger off and bring back some long forgotten memories and while I was cleaning out the kitchen recently I discovered a nearly empty bottle of sherry from last Christmas. I opened it up took a sniff and.....memories of Thief. I recieved Thief Gold as birthday present in January 2000 and I've got good memories of playing Thieve Guild and The Sword through a warm sherry induced alcolic haze a while later.:cheeky: Even now the smell of sherry to me is virtually synonmous with Thief (especially Thieves Guild) I have a few others I remember.....when I first started playing some fan missions, like the early Circle Of Strains and Order Of The Vine I also bought some Gillette Wild Rain aftershave and that smell reminds me of those fan missions.
Of course it's all personal and subjective andI don't expect the smell of sherry to automatially give you a sense of nostalgia like it does for me, but for many I imagine certain smells trigger off Thief memories. Don't be shy now.... :D

Uhh... i guess dark weather doesn't always remind me of thief. But dark weather in a certain street with a line of nice trees and a computer store on that street - yes.

I don't have any smell associations, but I have to admit that Christmas-time reminds me of Thief, both because I got the original game for Christmas and played it through the break (a decade ago already, was it?) and because since 2003 I've played A Thief's Holiday every Christmas.

I was very sick when I first played Ultima 7, so every time ... er, well certain smells do remind me of Trinsic every time. :eww:

The smell of fresh paint and new carpet. We had moved into an apartment which had been freshly remodeled when I first played T1. Every time I smell fresh paint or new carpet it reminds me of nights spent playing Thief.

Well, yes, actually. I fist saw Thief1 about ... lemme think... 9 years ago, maybe? I was 19 years old, we had set up a multiplayer LAN session at my friends. I was up in a small attic room with one of his friends, that smoked some selfmade ciagrettes, which smelled very strange (no folks, there was NO weed in it :rolleyes: ). It was a certain type of tabacco. Everytime I smell that stuff today reminds me of playing the mission Assassins from Thief 1.
Also, the smell of my Aftershave reminds me of even older memories of Duke Nukem 3D and X-Com 1: Ufo - Enemy Unknown. Nice ones, these were :D
