I know this has come up before, but I didn't see an answer to the problem. When I install Real_Orgy's mesh patch, all the characters appeared in compressed "Blooper Reel" format. Not only does this make it difficult to blackjack them, but my weapons also disappear from view - I appear to be firing arrows from somewhere around my kneecaps, and I can hear my sword swishing around futilely down there as well. It's rather fun, incidentally - successful archery becomes quite challenging when you shoot from the hip.
Is there a fix for this, anyone? The patch was applied to a clean full install of Thief Gold 1.37, the files WERE unzipped to the correct full paths, and I have added ObjTextures16 to dark.cfg
I'm running DirectX 8.0a on a GeForceDDR under Win98SE, just for info.

There's your problem. You must first do what Darkloader refers to as "optimizing", i.e. moving the resource files (<font face=courier>*.crf</font>) into their own subdirectory, then adapting the path in <font face=courier>install.cfg</font>. This is always necessary when attempting to override the interior resources with external files, be it a patch or a complete FM.

For each AI .bin file, there must be a .cal file. Thief can't find them, either because they're not there, or because it doesn't know where to find them, as may happen if you've been playing FM's and they weren't cleaned up properly.

Thankyou - that was it. Once I had run Darkloader, and all the crfs ended up in their own subdir, all the opponents gained about five feet in height.

I am having this problem with new dark running new missions, where exactly and what exactly do you move?
