Mission 15: Sabotage at Soulforge. I am unable to create the "stage-3 piece. I have done/dropped in/out/upside-down/downside-up the regulating round & stage-2 piece dozens of ways. This includes hitting the 2 switches on the balcony in all kind of orders, and going from the balcony to the sealing machine and back in dozens of different ways. Both items come out separate every time, instead of making a "stage-3" device. Help to [email]idahorog@aol.com[/email] please???!!! Thanks

Make certain that the items actually drop into the bin. You may need to lean a little to get them in.
Stage 2 goes in the NORTH SLOT. The other piece into the other side of the machine.

I was ALMOST positive they went all the way in, because I put them in, in so many different ways, "upside down & backwards," but I DIDN'T lean forward to do it. Perhaps doing so would put then in further. Worth a try - thanks. (NOTE: I got so disgusted that I uninstalled TMA - now I'll have to re-install & work my way back thru 14 missions................ unless you know of a "cheat" that could take me directly to Mission 15?!).

Sorry, ffox, but I'm a "computer dummy" and don't actually know how to edit a game in notepad or anywhere else, actually. Anything I can do when actually "in the game?" Thanks

Do you have NotePad installed? It's a lot easier to go to your
Thief folder, find
user.cfg, open it with NotePad, scroll down to where it says:
Code:
;Sabotage at Soulforge
;starting_mission 15
...And remove the semicolon in front of
starting_mission 15, then click Save. It's there for this purpose.
Put the semicolon back when you're done. Make a backup copy first. If you own
Thief Gold, editing a file in NotePad is how to play the hidden Easter Egg mission, the
Blooper Reel.
If you want to do it the hard way:
Press
ctrl+shift+alt+end after a mission starts, and it will end the mission, and let you proceed to the next. You will have to go through all the briefings & cutscenes (press shift to skip ahead when one starts), menus, and wait for the mission to start, then press the ctrl+alt+shift+end--for every mission until you get to Soulforge.
If you get used to the idea of using NotePad, you will have much greater control, and won't have to do very much.:thumb:

to jtr7. Thanks - I'll TRY the 1st idea, but will probably end up using #2 (unless I can get my grandson over (LOL).

ctrl-alt-shift-end WORKED (I'm going to try that on another problem game, as well) Of COURSE, I have to at least play the game previous, jist to get some DOUGH!!! Thanks again!
