Hi there everyone, long time (occasional) lurker, and now I find myself needing a little info/help. I'm trying to create a Thief boardgame. I'm basing the rules system on an existing boardgame called (
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/12622) Hour of Glory- in a sense, it's like a boardgame 'total conversion'- most of the mechanics are already in place, but I'm stripping the game down to just two players (the original is 2-4), and adding in a bunch of more Thief-specific stuff.
In any event, I need some help. I need to create cardboard stand-ups for the game (garret, and guards/enemies/whatnot), and so need front (and hopefully rear, too) shots of all the models in T: DS (I prefer those because they were the best looking in the series). In a perfect world there'd be a gallery out there of at least frontal views of the models, extracted from the game (I'm not really counting on this, though). I am willing to put some work in, so if someone wants to help me by giving me directions to do this myself, I'm game. I think I just need to know how to extract the (skinned) models, and a usable freeware model viewer that I can take screenshots with.
And, it goes without saying that if anyone else is interested in the results, I'm willing to share.
Thanks in advance,

Sounds fairly interesting, but you do have other options - I mean, you can head down to your local games shop and pick up some pre-painted Minis you can use as guards and/or a thief.
Look in the (
http://www.wizkidsgames.com/mageknight/figuregallery.asp) WizKids Figure Gallery for MageKnight (a quick check found (
http://www.wizkidsgames.com/mageknight/figuregallery.asp?unitid=1457) THIS model appropriate - it's a common, you should be able to buy one for less than a buck), or the (
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mix/gallery) D&D Miniatures (again, commons should run you less than a dollar - look through the sets to get an idea). As they're already painted, most of the work is already done for you!
(
http://www.rpgshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=38231&) Torin, Thief or (
http://www.rpgshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=35938&) Talbot, Thief from Reaper Miniatures makes for a good metal sub in, and as you really only need one thief, it can be metal. But again, there are pre-painted taffer-style minis out there.

It's funny, I bought a huge bunch of D&D Minis monsters last year when I built a set of Warhammer Quest (an old dungeoncrawl-style boardgame), but I didn't think to look into them for this game. Thanks for jogging my memory! Though, I would still like them to look like the Thief characters, so my original message is still in effect.

I imagine someone proficient with the T3 editor could get you screenshots of the fronts and backs of a few AI pretty easily, like Garrett, a couple of guards, a Hammer, a Pagan, etc. I'd do it as this sounds like an interesting project, but I've never even installed the editor.

Try asking in the T3 editor's guild. They might be able to help you out.
