Tonight I'm going to play the next mission on Expert. Any comments on the previous one?

What mission did you play before? Where are you at now?
The blackjack, can be your best friend, that and some water arrows too.

He played
Assassins!, and now he's on to
The Sword.

I'm thinking that I really will enjoy it more with having to escape. I'll try the next mission on Expert, and see how that goes.
Still, I am quite pleased. I didn't kill anyone, and I didn't use a single arrow. The blackjack is quite a nifty tool.
Perfect! \o/
Oh, and reading texts or listening to conversations can sometimes get you new objectives, in various missions.
So now that you've had your basic training, the games' story proper begins....

Check page 2 ;)
So, I need to steal a special sword from a new fish named Constantine, and a woman named Victoria is paying me to do it. For some reason, it makes me a little uneasy- I get the feeling I really shouldn't trust her. Still, if I get paid, I should be fine. Tonight, I go after the sword.

Alright, so I'm in a courtyard. I walk over to the right, and hear some guards talking. As they finish, one starts walking towards me. Hidden in the shadows, he doesn't notice me, and I swiftly hit him on the head.
However, it seems that there's two guards patrolling just inside the doorway, and another in a small room adjacent. I can't get through here. So, I head back to my start position- hey, there's wood above that balcony. I launch a rope arrow, and climb up.
I'd like to know who in their right mind would entrust the weight of their body plus a sword, bow, blackjack, and tons of loot to the load-bearing capacity of an arrow that got shot into some wood.
Anyway, I get up and retrieve my arrow. The door is unlocked, and I come into what must be servant's quarters. I relieve them of some hard-earned gold, and then, since the door in front of me cannot be opened, I head into a side room and down a ladder. Through a door, and I'm in the main halls. I dash into the room right across from me, where there's nothing of interest. I head down the hall somewhat, and into a dining room. A guard walks by, and in the darkness it's easy to bludgeon him. Soon after, his friend comes by- he meets the same fate. The gold candlestick is swiftly transported to my bag of limitless loot holding, and I open the trapdoor. One rope arrow later, and I'm up one level.
There's a guard who just left the room before I arrived. I follow him into a brightly-lit room, realizing too late that the floor is stone. He hears me, and I duck onto the other side of a very short wall, which forms a doorway to either side in the middle of the room. He starts moving in circles around the wall, and I stay on the other side, Looney Toons style. Eventually, I dash forward and smack him on the back of the head.
*crack*-'Aargh!'
Whoops, he's not down.
*crack*
*crack*
*crack*
*WALLOP*
And now he is.
Okay, now I head back to the room I came up in, and take the tunnel to my right. I come to a crossroads, and take a left.
There's a room upside-down, with flies in it.
Okay... Turn around, go into the next passage. There's a bedroom. I read a book about a peculiar flower, and find a water arrow in the bathtub. Back to the intersection, and into another tunnel. There's a short ramp going up, and in a leafy cavern is a fern.
That is moving.
And making noises.
I gently skirt by it, and head up the tunnel.
Oh, what the fuck is this, Bizarro World? There's a sideways room, an upside down room, a room with mossy floor for no reason.
There's also a ton of guards, and marble floors. Time to backtrack. I return to the room where I used a rope to climb up, and go through the opposite door, and after moving through some short halls I find myself in an L-shaped area with lots of doors and traps. After looting what I can, I head upstairs, through the door, to the left, and through a tunnel.
Another intersection, with some doors far off.
Okay, I'll take the left one-
Whoah. That's just freaky. They look the same, but only one is normal-size. Through the normal one- oh look, more guards. Up the vine, through the corridor. There's some guards talking.
I'll continue later tonight.

Heh heh heh.... Still doin' fine, he is.:ebil:

So, there's guards here. One of them talks about the boss being in a bad mood, then they start their patrols. At the appropriate point, I dash to the side and up another tunnel. There's a strange, fleshy thing over the sword. After hitting the thing a few times with my sword, it disappears, and I am able to jump to the bottom without taking damage. I grab the sword, blackjack a guard who happened to be right nearby, and go down a tunnel.
Wait a second, this is exactly where I was before all the backtracking.
/facepalm
A little bit of exploring, and I come across a hallway that spirals... Ya know what, screw this. I have the sword. Now I just need some incriminating evidence. The last place I haven't searched would be the garden, so I'll go there. One guard walks down a tunnel, and after a few frenzied seconds is unconscious on the floor. A short while later near a greenhouse, and it's the same thing. I check the door in the greenhouse, and not only is it locked, but none of my lockpicks work. Hmm. Okay, well I'll just search around for one.
Can't find it. I look in other rooms as well, and there's nowhere I haven't explored.
Well, let's think about this. There's probably the incriminating evidence somewhere through that door. So, where would he keep the key to such a room?
Ah. His bedroom.
I return to the upper floor, go into his bedroom, and start to search.
Aha! A key!
I head all the way back down, and surprise surprise, it works. There's a note on the floor- it's incriminating enough. Since I've gathered enough loot, I run back to the main floor, into the room with the ladder, up the ladder, through the door, and then finally back outside.
Success...
Hang on, who is this? Oh, hello, Constantine. Please don't kill me.
So, now he wants to hire me, and looting his estate was just a big test. What a trickster. Okay, so it's off to the walled-off part of the city.
Constantine seems alright, but I still don't trust Victoria. The way she finished his sentence about the eye I'm supposed to steal makes me a little edgy.
And come on Garret, isn't the whole 'This place was walled off because everyone died' thing enough of a deterrent?
Hmm. Haunted Cathedral, coming up soon. Probably tomorrow.

:laff: What an eccentric, eh?
I'm glad you didn't ask the common question: Where can I find this incriminating evidence?
You passed that test, too.:thumb:

A word of warning: the loot requirement on Expert is very high in this mission. Took me three or four hours on my first playthough.

I'm thinking I'll try Hard for this one, Expert was perhaps just a little bit too difficult in terms of the awareness of the guards, and gathering loot isn't really too much fun to me.

Yeah, he's pretty weird. Well, I imagine I won't have a problem with him, after all, it's not like he'll actually do anything during the mission. I just better get paid when I come back. Then again, judging from how he designed his castle, I'm not sure it's entirely safe to give him something worth a hundred thousand gold. Of course, seeing how he has seemingly endless amounts of gold, I think it's very possible that this thing is just a pretty artifact and he can afford to drop a ton of cash to get it.
