Most importantly, will darkloader and FMs run with a steam install?
I ask because I lost my discs and can't find a store that carries them :(

FMs worked with the GOG version, this shouldn't be any different. Do you for some reason not have access to Amazon or Ebay? Can get cheap used copies there too.

One has to wonder why they chose a version prior to mine, with the disclaimers, though - maybe pertinent; maybe pure coincidence.
GOG said through their forums that it is company policy to utilise patches from as few authors as possible - it limits the number of people they need to get permission from before using them.

Ack! I missed out on the cheaper price. Now I'm going to have to pay $27 for all three games if I want it through Steam (which I might as well since Steam has me locked in to their damn marketing trap).

There should be a Steam summer sale in a few weeks. How about 75% off?

They had better! I have never seen Thief as no 1. Even 14 years ago. I do remember going into Electronic Boutique and wit as no 7 and was like hay that looks. Cool.
3 days ago was no 3 on steam . Now back to like £20 for all four(and yes its still worth it) at about 24. We need a week long sale :)

Two questions:
1. If the Steam version uses an old version of DDFix, is it possible to use a newer one with it?
2. Will this mess up an install of the CD version if it's still on my hard drive. Overwritten registries, etc.

1 yes

Ive had Thief2 for such a long time I never got to play 1/Gold. Now's my chance!!! Bought it yesterday on Steam. If the developers are gone, does only the publisher get all the money?

You have never played The Dark Project? Oh my, you are in for a real treat.
