In TG, is it possible to use the middle button/scroll and do all three different movement speeds work? :P

Ive had Thief2 for such a long time I never got to play 1/Gold. Now's my chance!!! Bought it yesterday on Steam. If the developers are gone, does only the publisher get all the money?
The majority goes to Eidos/Square Enix; a portion goes to Valve.

Iirc, you can set the movement speeds in the Customize Controls screen. See (

I bought Thief 1 and 2 the day it was released on steam. Only issue I had was the videos not playing. All I had to do was copy the .AVI videos that worked to the MOVIES directory and everything was good to go. Besides DDFIX higher resolutions, the Bloom which I am still trying to fix on Thief Gold.

I've wondered about this - Looking Glass created the game, they are long gone, but I think the intellectual property is/was owned by a publisher? This must have been worked out when Looking Glass folded.

That would be Eidos.

I think it was Tim Stellmach who had said that the devs received no money for the games after LGS shut down and assets were sold off; no residuals/royalties.

I've recently had to re-install Windows. Now I'm ready to install Thief and Garrettloader. But instead of going through the elaborate process with Thief, I want to use the game run through Steam.
Will this work ? Basically, I will install Garrettloader and point to the Thief.exe in the Steam Folder. I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has had difficulties and willing to give advise.
Anecdotally, it was Ruins Of Originia that I was playing when, apparently, an important file got corrupted, and I was forced, not being able to find or fix it, to re-install Windows. This isn't pertinent...just thought I'd vent :)
