A quick update, in case anyone else is wondering, all three
Thief games run beautifully on an Intel iMac, core duo. In fact, there was less fiddling than there had been on my old Pentium4. For
Thief 2, I didn't need to apply the 'movie fix' autoexec bat, or fiddle around with commenting out processors, I just installed and away we went.
It's a great relief to me that I won't need to keep a snapsot Win32 machine laying around just to play these games I love.
Rest.

Cool :thumb: I need to get me one of those! My WinPC is about 5 years old, & my g3 b/w mac is too slow for any extensive work although I did a few few large audio projects on it. It's terrible for gaming though.
One of these would certainly help with the dark mod since the plans are to have some cross-platform capability.

I've actually read several reports of games running better on the intel macs with windows installed, than a PC with windows installed. Hurray for intel macs and dual boot. :)

That's very true. This iMac is the fastest Windows machine I've ever owned :p
I wasn't worried about it making
Half-Life 2 scream, but the
Thief games can be sometimes fussy to get running properly.
The best thing about the iMac: near silence. The morning after I set up the iMac, and moved my old windows box out of my office, I couldn't figure out what the noise in there was. Then I realised it was the clock on the wall, ticking. I'd never heard it before :)

I haven't touched a Mac since 1991 because, in those days, they cost a lot more than PC clones. I do enjoy (
http://youtube.com/watch?v=DJyTANCDyoc&mode=related&search=) this movie because it makes me feel like, as a Windows user, I'm not really missing anything.
When I need to be different I just reboot my WinXP laptop to Linux.
