Thief on linux... New plan - by Albert

Yeah, that is the way it should look, at least if you have an nvidia GPU and DDFIX
Albert, if you have a multicore CPU, run T2 like this: taskset -c 0 wine "C:\Program Files\Thief2\thief2.exe"
Albert on 21/1/2010 at 22:49
(
http://freshmeat.net/projects/schedtool/) Schedtool. Yes, that looks nice, lost_soul, but do you has fog? (And also, that's Thief, or Thief gold?)
(Now I feel that I'm being taunted! Grumbles...)
lost_soul on 21/1/2010 at 22:52
That is Thief Gold. I do indeed use schedtool, and nope, I don't have fog in T2. ):

:ebil:
And on a smaller note... I tried getting ddfix to work, and now my wine executable I put on my desktop wont run. Sure, I can run the .exe directly, but w/o the virtual desktop settings.

Dammit!
Earlier, just a few hours ago. I was seeing literally the Masks OM... W/O THAT DAMN PATCHY GRAPHICS PROBLEM AND WITH FOG... And all that w/o the ddfix patch. I'm really pissed, as I'm unable to replicate that just now.
:(
(Even my spelling is pissed... and disoriented.)

Well, we can always wait and see what happens. First it was widescreen, then 32bit textures, and now a fog fix. A (
http://www.liflg.org/) loki-ish linux port may occur in the next few years or so.
(Unless I'm in a world of wall-eyed pessimists...)

How would that be possible? Isn't loki just installers and uninstaller for games that can already run natively on Linux? Thief can't run natively on linux, unless there is some bypass direct x and get it running on opengl, and whatever other windows dependencies exist.
Albert on 13/2/2010 at 18:41
OK, Ok... I'm just exhausted enough. I know what Loki is... But with projects like OPDE, we may see such an installer... someday...

What are you mad about? Relax. Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. Does it really matter? No. It's a game.
Albert on 14/2/2010 at 16:30
I'm not really all that mad. The only thing that makes me mad is the fact that we always need something to go into detail about. Now, I'll admit I'm not so innocent when it comes to this sort of stuff, and yet I get a tad annoyed when someone needs to disprove me fruitlessly.
